Permanent Orienteering Courses
Permanent Orienteering Courses (POCs) provide an opportunity for individuals and groups to orienteer at any time. Courses vary in technical difficulty. Some are designed for children and beginners whilst others offer more of a challenge.
For many of the courses there is a Youth Leader/ Teacher pack. This gives details on using the POC to introduce your group to orienteering.
The map below shows the location of POC courses. For many areas you can download course packs (including maps, instructions and a control card) for free and print them out on your printer - quality will depend on your printer and paper used. Course packs for some areas can also be purchased from a nearby outlet - check opening times and map availability before travelling. Alternatively you can request packs including laser printed maps - cost GBP 2.00 - from our Permanent Course Co-ordinator John Marriott email - Note this can take some time if maps have to be ordered.

Help on using the map below: Clicking on the icon or the name in the list will provide additional details. You can use the normal Google Maps controls to pan and zoom or you can pan using click and drag and zoom using the scroll wheel. You can select whether to show roads or aerial photographs. By ticking the boxes next to the icons you can choose whether to hide or show locations with downloadable maps and you can also choose to show areas where POC courses are being developed.
