Lots of apologies.
Apologies for the lack of printed splits on the night. Our download printer has gone back for repair. I therefore used a laptop in the back of my car, but perhaps some of you did not find it as a few people did not download. As there was no-one left in the car park we assume you all got home safely. Please don't forget to report to the finish at all events.
On reflection, the medium course was too hard for those trying to make the step from Yellow courses to something harder. At a normal event there would be Orange and Light Green courses to provide a progression from the Yellow course to something like my Medium Course which was as technically difficult as the Long course.
Apologies also to those who had difficulty finding some of the controls because I had put them in the wrong place. This affected:
-
228 (12 on Med, 18 on Long) where I found another knoll, not shown on the map, but closer to the path, and easier to find.
-
223 (12 Long) where I used the wrong ditch junction. Originally, there was one ditch on the map and I added an extra one, but actually there are three branching off the main ditch.
-
235 (9 Long) where I used the west crag rather than the east crag. Not far away, but enough to be annoying or worse.
Apologies also to those of you who had to wait for maps to come back.
Despite all this, I did hear some positive comments and I did try to avoid most of the worst bits. Honest.
John Marriott
