The results below are shown as they would appear following a standard orienteering competition
i.e. if any control is missed or the wrong control dibbed then the competitor is disqualified as mispunching (mp).
However for this competition the competitors were given a time penalty for mispunching instead.
To reflect this a separate set of results are available calculated using this method.

Outwoods is one of Leicestershire's best and most difficult orienteering areas. To follow the extensive path network requires good concentration, and change of pace at the difficult points. The most difficult legs on both the white and yellow course were from control 9 to control 10. The path from white control 9 was fairly faint, and I perhaps should have put up the sad and smiley faces to reassure white competitors. On the yellow course the control was the first off-path control (the Boulder) and was probably missed, this lead to confusion on navigating away from the feature to the next control.

For those who feel disappointed with their performance remember that the winning white pair included a boy with significant orienteering experience who was well placed in the British championships when they were held in Leicestershire last year. The older Oadby & Wigston partnership competitors compete in an inter high school league and most competitors will have competed at least eight short races before this one. Have a look at your split times and you find that you did a lot of the course really well, so congratulations.
