On behalf of the controller (Simon Ford), planner (Graham Watson) and organisers (Wendy and Alan West), we thank you for your support at today's event at Ratby Woodlands, Leicestershire, and hope it was an enjoyable experience. We had some positive comments about the woodlands, the courses that Graham had planned and the quality of the map, recently updated by Don Moir.
The weather was superb and this seemed to bring a lot more orienteers than were anticipated. Despite having significantly increased the number of maps printed, compared to previous events, we had to recycle maps to enable as many orienteers as possible the opportunity to run the course of their choice. Can we thank all of those competitors who gave up their maps. The organisers have now e-mailed all of the competitors who requested maps. However, one competitor's e-mail has bounced back. If you require a map and have not received one, please contact the organisers on wenandal@talktalk.net for a PDF version, stating which map you require. Alternatively, if you would prefer a hard copy, please e-mail your address.
The collection at Groby Community College on 1st April raised £104.76 for the Woodland Trust's Diamond Wood at Ravenstone.
