Enter 3 days before the event to guarantee a map. Pay the entry fee to The Start Kite (account details will be displayed on screen when you confirm your entry).
Late entries and Entry on the Day: This is possible via The Start Kite depending on map availability. No cash entry on the day.

New to Orienteering? If you are new to orienteering, please make yourself known to the organiser at registration and advice will be available.

Parking: Parking available in the main Western Park car park and along the
entrance road.

Terrain: A mixture of open and rough open park land with some woodland areas. Longer courses also use urban areas adjacent to the park.

Distance to start/finish: Close to car parking.
Start location: Picnic bench not far from the toilet block, right next to car park. Google link
There will be two separate starts (not far from each other). One for Medium and Long, and the other for Short and the West End Intro Course.

Full leg cover: required for Short, Medium and Long courses, mostly due to areas of long grass. West End intro course avoids this.

Safety: A risk assessment has been carried out by the Organiser and all reasonable care has been taken to ensure the safety of competitors. However, participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Please note:
There will be other park users including dog walkers throughout the area and many dogs will be off their leads. Please respect other users.

Summer League 2024
The 2024 LEI Summer League consists of 17 events taking place from April to August on midweek evenings with Starts usually from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. They include Long, Score, Sprint and Urban events. Your top 10 scores count on the league table. See the Summer League page for the full list of fixtures and the current league table.

Control Collection: Volunteers willing to collect in a few controls each after the courses close would be much appreciated.
