Summer League Presentation
Following the event will be a buffet and the presentation of trophies to the Summer League winners.
Venue: Measham Village Hall, Queens Street, Measham, DE12 7JE, about 10mins from QEDJW. See Google map
Time: Starting at 8.00pm. The buffet is opened when all the controls are collected and the event officials arrive.
Food: If you are expecting to attend, please let Chris or Ursula know by the 9th August, so that we can organise enough food and also if you have any special dietary requirements.
Drink: Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available. Please bring your own alcohol if you want it.
Charge: As always there is no charge for the buffet.
Event Entry: Open on The Start Kite.
Student/unwaged discount code: R968.
Enter 3 days before the event to guarantee a map. Pay the entry fee to The Start Kite (account details will be displayed on screen when you confirm your entry).
Late entries and Entry on the Day: This is possible via The Start Kite depending on map availability. No cash entry on the day.
Parking: Car park off Heather lane. See Google link.
Terrain: Woodland (mostly immature), paths, hedges and open land
Distance to Start/Finish: Close to car park.
Mass Start: Everyone starts at 6.00pm
Score Course: 45 minute with 20 controls.
Visit in any order as many control sites as you can in the time allowed.
Points:
18 controls 10pts each
2 controls 30 pts each
Maximum Score 240 pts
Penalty Points for finishing after 45 minutes: minus 20 pts for every minute or part of.
Beginners: No introductory course, but the nearer controls are suitable for beginners.
Safety: A risk assessment has been carried out by the Organiser and all reasonable care has been taken to ensure the safety of competitors. However, participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Control Collection: Traditionally it is expected that as many competitors as possible will help collect controls. So volunteers willing to collect in a few controls each after the courses close would be very much appreciated.
MapRun: From 27th August there will be a MapRun activity every Tuesday. Starting with Evington Park and Aboretum.
