Event Details

MapRun: The control sites have no visible controls. Instead the Start, Finish and all control sites are identified by a GPS signal on your phone. The signal can be received within a few metres of the feature marked on your map. Advice and assistance will be available for anyone new to MapRun.

App: All participants need a smart phone or watch with the MapRun or MapRunG App. Download App.

Car Park: The entrance is next to 33 Somerfield Way. See this map link for the precise location.

Register: Please use the form below before mid-day Tuesday to book a map. Load the MapRun app before the event. The map will be published on the app, so you can download it beforehand.

Terrain: Modern urban area with some parks and grassland.

Map: A new experimental simplified style of urban O map. It uses lighter colours for the built and out-of-bounds areas and leaves out less important details.

Courses: Suitable for newcomers as well as experienced orienteers.

Courses Close: 7.45pm (sunset: 6.24pm). So a torch will be needed.

Planner: The MapRun courses will be designed by John Marriott.

Safety: A risk assessment has been carried out by the Organiser and all reasonable care has been taken to ensure the safety of competitors. However, participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

Privacy & Personal Data: When entering events your personal details (name, age, gender, club) will appear in the results section on this website. It may also be used to contact you regarding this event including to trace missing runners and hired SI cards.
